  • DEVELOPING A MEDITATIVE YOGA PRACTICE

    Join Barbu and SHY for a 2.5-hour workshop focusing on meditative awareness, deep breathing and mindful movement. We all have the capacity for a deep and meditative practice, but few of us are touching that potential. For most of us, the beginning of the yoga journey involves a lot of mechanics to learn the postures, which usually means we can't breathe deeply or steadily. After some time passes, we start longing to look deeper into ourselves and connect with the more spiritual center that we suspect lives inside of us. The breath and bandhas (yogic seals, or locks) are a great way to slow down and connect deeply with this core of inner stillness and wisdom. We will explore a slower, simpler practice that is focused on breathing, the three yogic seals, and deep concentration. Gain the tools to transform your asana practice and explore yoga nidra (yogic sleep) as a way to deeply rejuvenate yourself. Learn how to carry these tools into your everyday life, for a more productive, happy and centered way of being.
